Revision: An Author’s Guide

In one of his most specific books, Michael Legat deals with the subject of revision of both fiction and non-fiction books.

He suggests when to revise, how often and what matters should be checked in successive revisions.  His detailed advice covers structure, plot, characterizations, dialogue, repetitions and consistency.  The book also includes recommendations on the submission of material to publishers, together with an explanation of why books may be rejected and suggestions about the kind of revision which may then be done to improve the chances of achieving eventual publication.

If you know that your manuscript needs revising, this helpful book will show you exactly how to go about it.
