Chris Brown was born in 1958 and doesn’t care who knows it. He first started work at Sheffield University as an electron microscopy technician where he learned how to insult people in Arabic and Russian. He had always wanted to learn to fly but couldn’t afford it, so he joined the RAF and let the queen foot the bill. Unfortunately, they were really keen on flying in straight lines so he only managed very few hours solo in a jet. He left the RAF to join the Fire Service in 1983 where he has spent the last twenty years putting out fires, cutting up cars, driving big red lorries and rescuing hamsters… In fact, having a jolly good time. He has written a musical called The Last Viking, which has yet to be staged and a children’s book called Sir Bryan and the Swamp Dragon. He lives in Sheffield with his wife Andrea and two sons Richard and Michael. |
