This enlightened view is bases not only on commercial reality because they hope you will buy a full copy, but they also recognise the benefit of ‘herd immunity’. If computer can be immunised very quickly. a problem cannot spread. By making the fixes available these companies, and you as a responsible user, are protecting their wider community.
